To celebrate world book day we came to school in our PJs with our favourite teddy bear! We had so much fun reading our favourite books and even making our own book marks to take home.
We have had a very busy world book week! On Monday Jude Lennon came to visit us and we made our own poem about Liverpool Lime street! We had so much fun making our very own train for Winnie the Pooh and his friends out of recyclable materials we had learnt all about in our science lessons! On Tuesday we visited our local library where we met Goldilocks who took us on an amazing adventure to Fairytale land!
We made posters to inform people of how important it is to recycle. We used books to research materials and how they can be recycled to help our environment!
Well done to Halle who won our kindness award. Halle is always willing to help anyone in our class with any task. She even helps the adults by doing jobs without us asking! Well done Halle, we are so happy you are in Sunflower class!
For Chinese New Year we celebrated by taste testing some traditional foods, creating our own lucky red envelopes and designing our own dragon masks for the new year parade! Our children were so lucky they found a gold coin in their envelopes at home time!
Our geography topic is the United Kingdom! We learnt all 4 countries and their capital cities. We used an atlas to find them on the map and label our own maps. We also learnt the flags and national symbols.
Head to class dojo to see our production inspired by the Nativity!
Year 2&3 we’re lucky enough to visit Crosby hall for an over night stay! We even had a visit from the man himself, Santa! What a magical experience we had.
We have composed our own music in our music lessons this week!
We visited Kingsley & Co today! We had so much fun. We met Jude Lennon who helped us to write our own stories, we travelled back in time on the time machine, we entered a magical exploration room and we even got to take a free book home!
This week we had a very special visitor. Author/ rapper Professor Elemental came to visit our school and helped us write some amazing raps. We had great fun and learnt how to rhyme and keep the beat. We created our very own rap together and the children even managed to use my name in their rap!
We completed the 52Lives kindness workshop! We learnt about a young lady named Liv who needed random acts of kindness to help cheer her up, and that is exactly what we did! We hope you love our creations Liv!
Our chosen poet for this year is A.A.Milne. We read some of his poetry all about Winnie the Pooh. We researched the history about Winnie the Pooh, including the inspirations for the author’s ideas. We also learnt a lot about the man himself and his son Christopher Robin!
We painted sunflowers to remember our first few days in Sunflower class!
We used the leaves on our sunflower to write 3 things we like about ourselves. We can look at them and read them every day to remind ourselves just how brilliant we are!
We had such a fun first day in Sunflower class! We made our promises to each other and we wrote down our favourite 3 things about ourselves to be displayed on our classroom door! Well done everyone!
