Clover Year 3

Welcome to Clover Class !

Year 3

Wednesday 14th October

Good morning Clover Class,

Today is our last day at home !

At home today, you could finish off your science food diaries which were in your home learning pack. There is also science work, linked to our nutrition topic, set for everyone on Education City and Purple Mash.

There are also some autumn art activities on Purple Mash for you to have a go at. Don't forget to complete the drawing activities in your home learning pack too. It would great for the class to share some of the animal drawings that have done at home when we are back in school.

In school we do handwriting practise most days so have a go at some of the handwriting from your pack. Remember to sit up straight with your feet flat on the ground and hold your pencil correctly to help you do your best handwriting.

I am looking forward to seeing you in school tomorrow . Please remember to bring your home learning packs back to school with you, particularly the CGP workbooks, as we will use these resources in class. Don't forget to bring in any reading books sent home from school too as we will change these on Thursday or Friday.

Take care and stay safe.

Mrs Washington

Tuesday 13th October

Good morning Clover Class,

I hope you are all doing okay at home and that you are looking forward to coming back to school on Thursday ? I certainly am !

Please find below some resources to help you with your home learning today.

Try to do some more research on our Ancient Egypt topic by having a look at the following video which contains some interesting facts:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_V3C6szgcIY

The BBC bitesize website, which I mentioned last week, also has some great facts and animations about life in Ancient Egypt:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zg87xnb

It would be great to hear some of your research when we are back in school .

Don't forget that you can get access to free e-book versions of the books we send home via the Oxford Owl website www.oxfordowl.co.uk . I sent out the login details on the app last week. These e-books have an audio option which will read the book to you and there are activities linked to the books too.

In maths, remember to keep practising times tables if your are in Mrs Washington's or Mrs Christian's group and your number bonds to 10 and 20 for Mrs Benham's maths group.

How is your active personal challenge coming along ? How many times can you pass a ball/toy/sock around your waist in 30 seconds? I've managed to pass my pencil case around my waist 27 times in 30 seconds. How are you all getting on with this challenge ?

Take care and stay safe.

Mrs Washington

11th September 2020

The children have just completed their first full week back in school and are coping really well with our new school routines like  handwashing/sanitising throughout the day,  and year group bubbles.  We had our first PE sessions this week and we will continue to do as many of these outdoors as long as the weather permits.

I have attached a copy of our Autumn term topic letter below to outline what we will be doing in school this term. If you have any questions , please don't hesitate to contact me via email on fwashington@nethertonmoss.co.uk.

Autumn 2020 Topic Letter

29th August 2020

Hi Clover Class,

We are looking forward to seeing you all back in school on Thursday 3rd September. We have been working hard over the last few weeks to get the classroom ready for you all, following a couple of months of building work in school . We have added a few pictures below .

Each child will have their own pencil case with the pencils/rubbers/rulers etc that they need and will stay in a Year 3 bubble for most of the day , including for lunch and playtimes.  There will be an increased focus on hygiene and children will asked to wash their hands regularly throughout the school day. We will also be wiping down surfaces in the classroom during the school day. We ask that children do not bring any items such as toys or pencil cases  in from home with them .

School will be operating staggered start and finishing times for each year group .

Year 3 will start at 8.45am and finish at 2.50pm each day with the children entering and leaving through the Year 3 door ( right next door to Year 2).

If you have any questions about the return to school, please do not hesitate to email  fwashington@nethertonmoss.co.uk.

See you all on Thursday.

Mrs Washington & Mrs Windsor
